About the role#
Virtu Financial offers a 10-week summer internship program for students interested in financial technology. Interns participate in a company-curated training curriculum, complete development projects, and work alongside senior mentors to gain experience in global financial markets.
What you'll do#
- Complete a variety of challenging development projects.
- Work alongside the senior team to improve the scalability, performance, and efficiency of trading systems.
- Design and architect trading systems for scale.
- Support the massive amounts of data processed by trading systems daily.
- Participate in ongoing training throughout the summer.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising junior or a student ready for full-time employment between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Excellent academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and either Java or C++.
- Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude.
- A highly motivated, tenacious, and independent work ethic.
