About the role#
As a Quality Engineer Intern at Vermeer Corporation, you will support projects that improve production processes and operational performance. This role provides hands-on experience in monitoring and solving quality issues to help prepare you for a full-time engineering career. You will work on-site at our Pella, Iowa facility during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Review and analyze internal and external quality performance data and share your findings with manufacturing leadership.
- Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to reduce defects and implement effective solutions.
- Execute and audit control plans and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance.
- Use statistical software to participate in process capability studies and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with critical Quality Management System (QMS) processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
- Awareness of quality tools and techniques including APQP, Core Tools, SPC, and CPK.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Lean Sigma/Six Sigma methodology.
- Ability to read prints and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency in operating assembly and measurement tools.
