About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship position based in Beatrice, Nebraska. You will join the Exmark team for the Summer 2027 term, running from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. This role is on-site.
What you'll do#
- Establish and maintain engineered time standards for direct labor operations.
- Develop methods and processes for assembly, welding, paint lines, and material handling on new equipment.
- Partner with department supervisors and manufacturing engineers to implement these new methods.
- Recommend improvements for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Set up workstations, tooling, and safety equipment with a focus on proper ergonomics.
- Apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and improved.
- Create documentation for new product launches, including standard work and Heijunka cards.
- Collaborate across business functions to contribute to team goals.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Analytical and organizational abilities with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with MS Office, CAD software, and test instrumentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
