About the role#
The Construction Technology Intern supports the implementation and improvement of technology solutions across our construction operations. This position provides hands-on experience with construction software, field technology, surveying equipment, machine control systems, drones, and data analytics tools. You will work alongside field operations, project management, and engineering teams to apply technology to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the implementation and support of construction technology platforms.
- Support the adoption of tools through training and field coaching.
- Document technology processes, workflows, and best practices.
- Support GPS machine control operations and data management.
- Assist with site layout activities using GPS and surveying equipment.
- Collect, organize, and validate field data.
- Participate in machine control file preparation and quality reviews.
- Assist with drone flight planning, data collection, and processing.
- Support aerial mapping, progress tracking, and site documentation.
- Create project visualizations, Ortho mosaics, and progress reports.
- Gather and organize project performance data.
- Assist with dashboards, reporting, and data visualization tools.
- Support the analysis of operational metrics.
- Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, superintendents, and operations leaders.
- Attend project meetings and technology demonstrations.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of 2 years of education working toward a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- At least one summer of construction work experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, mean, median, and averages.
- Ability to maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ability to respond to shifting priorities in a changing environment.
