About the role#
Hoar Construction is hiring for our Fall 2027 internship program. This role provides exposure to project management, estimating, and field operations. You will gain a practical understanding of the construction process throughout the term.
What you'll do#
- Participate in quantity takeoff and estimating tasks.
- Manage the submittal process by maintaining logs and reviewing shop drawings.
- Prepare transmittals for project documentation.
- Assist with jobsite setup, permitting, and project closeout.
- Use spreadsheets and other computer tools to support project needs.
What you'll need#
- You must be a full-time student pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science.
- You have completed your freshman year of college.
- You maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- You are able to work 40 hours per week during the term.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You hold a valid driver's license.
- You have a clear desire to pursue a career in the construction industry after graduation.
Location & details#
This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship located in Austin, San Angelo, or Abilene, Texas. Work takes place in both office and outdoor settings, requiring travel between sites and exposure to various weather conditions.
