About the role#
Hoar Construction offers a Summer 2027 internship for students pursuing a career in the construction industry. You will gain exposure to estimating, project management, and field operations while working on-site in Birmingham. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Learn the construction process from start to finish.
- Assist with quantity takeoff and estimating tasks.
- Manage the submittal process, including maintaining logs and reviewing shop drawings.
- Prepare transmittals for project documentation.
- Help with jobsite setup, permitting, and project closeout.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuit of a four-year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science.
- Completion of your college freshman year.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the term.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver's license.
