About the role#
Darden is hiring research assistants for the academic year to support faculty and associate directors on various research initiatives. You will work on topics such as impact investing, entrepreneurship, and workplace studies. This is a part-time, remote position open to current UVA students.
What you'll do#
- Find and summarize academic literature and policies.
- Build data sets using publicly available information on companies or cities.
- Perform qualitative coding of textual or visual data.
- Write summaries of faculty research for business practitioners.
- Handle other research tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Virginia.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize arguments and summarize information clearly.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- A flexible approach to problem-solving when initial methods do not work.
- Relevant academic background in business, economics, social sciences, humanities, statistics, mathematics, or related fields.
Location & details#
- This position is fully remote, though you must physically reside in the United States.
- Work hours range from 8 to 20 hours per week during the academic year.
- Pay is hourly based on your education level: $15 for 4-year degree students, $19 for MA students, and $25 for Ph.D. students in the post-MA phase.
