About the role#
The Election Rules Commission (ERC) Deputy Supervisor of Elections assists with official operations for the Student Government Elections on the St. Petersburg campus. This role involves managing election processes, advertising, and certifying results. You will act on behalf of the Supervisor and Associate Supervisor of Elections when necessary.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the daily business of all Student Government Elections.
- Inform candidates of election rules and regulations and enforce them when needed.
- Attend and vote on issues during ERC meetings, including election grievances.
- Create and coordinate programming efforts on behalf of the ERC.
- Help set up and work official polling stations during specified voting days.
- Testify in cases brought to the Supreme Court concerning elections.
- Propose Rules of Procedures for adoption by the ERC.
- Attend ERC sponsored events, such as debates and the Inauguration Ceremony.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment as an undergraduate degree-seeking student for a minimum of 6 credit hours.
- Good academic standing, maintaining a minimum cumulative institutional 2.5 GPA for undergraduate students or 3.0 GPA for graduate students.
- No current disciplinary probation, suspension, or expulsion by the university.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and a commitment to ethical practices.
- A working understanding of Title VII of the Student Government Statutes and the election process is preferred.
