About the role#
This is a paid internship for the Fall 2026 term based in Minneapolis. You will support the Community Manager and the onsite team with daily financial, operational, and resident-facing tasks. This role provides hands-on exposure to how a multifamily community operates, including basic accounting, property management, and resident relations.
What you'll do#
- Help with daily transactions like collecting and posting rent and fees.
- Assist with daily bank deposits and basic account reconciliation.
- Review vendor invoices and verify work performed before payment submission.
- Answer resident questions and direct concerns to the right team member.
- Participate in resident satisfaction events, surveys, and follow-ups.
- Review resident files, lease terms, and move-out procedures.
- Shadow the Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor during daily operations.
- Help coordinate work orders, unit inspections, and make-ready tasks.
- Assist with property walks to identify maintenance needs and evaluate curb appeal.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a sophomore, junior, or senior.
- Interest in real estate, property management, business, finance, or hospitality.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A basic understanding of accounting principles or a willingness to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A customer-service mindset and a collaborative approach.
- Experience with property management software is a plus.
