About the role#
NJM Insurance Group is hiring a Legal Winter Intern for our Law and Regulation team. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Trenton, New Jersey, for the winter 2027 term. You will work directly with our legal staff on research and operational projects to gain experience in insurance business and litigation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Contract Management team to review documents such as SOWs and NDAs.
- Conduct compliance-related research based on inquiries from internal business units.
- Handle select legal referral assignments to learn about the insurance business.
- Assist the Complaint team with Department of Insurance complaint responses.
- Perform compliance auditing to see how regulations apply to company operations.
- Research corporate requirements and other legal matters.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a second-year law student.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher.
- Strong writing, research, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Interest in contracts and regulatory law.
- Experience on a law review or law journal is preferred.
- A writing sample is requested.
