About the role#
NJM Insurance Group is hiring a Winter Intern for the Special Investigations Unit in Trenton. This is a paid, full-time position for the winter 2027 term. You will assist with anti-fraud efforts by gathering intelligence and analyzing data to support policy and claim investigations. The role is on-site.
What you'll do#
- Triage and analyze scorecards and predictive model outputs for claims and medical providers.
- Mine data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in policies and claims.
- Perform background research using public databases to support claim reviews.
- Review internal databases and retrieve recorded calls to assist investigative teams.
- Translate complex analyses into actionable intelligence for decision-making.
- Share findings with supervisory staff and attend industry meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior majoring in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Criminal Justice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively and engage with others effectively.
