About the role#
Milliman is hiring an Actuarial Intern for our Employee Benefits Consulting Practice. This is a part-time, paid position based in our Little Falls, New Jersey office. You will work 10-15 hours per week from September 2026 through June 2027. We are looking for a current junior who can balance academic commitments with professional work.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic actuarial and financial calculations and client deliverables.
- Perform data analysis using Excel and proprietary Milliman programs.
- Collaborate with project teams, including consultants and project managers, to deliver client reports.
- Support senior staff on various projects.
- Gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or another quantitative major.
- At least one SOA exam passed.
- Experience with financial monitoring reports and data review.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
- Previous internship or work experience with an actuarial firm is preferred.

- Location: Little Falls, New Jersey.
- Modality: This role is on-site.
- Schedule: 10-15 hours per week, starting September 8, 2026.
- Compensation: $21.00 - $46.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, and qualifications.
