About the role#
The Law Clerk Intern program at Kemper provides students with hands-on experience in civil litigation. Interns work alongside attorneys and paralegals on active cases, gaining exposure to the full litigation process while building professional connections within the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist attorneys with drafting discovery responses and reporting to claims.
- Prepare materials for mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings.
- Draft pleadings and communicate directly with clients.
- Gather necessary documentation and information to process case closures.
- Conduct legal research as required to support ongoing litigation matters.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd or 3rd year law student at an ABA-approved law school (or 4th year if in a part-time or JD/MBA program).
- Strong interest in civil litigation, personal injury, and insurance law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build effective professional relationships.
- Self-directed work ethic with the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term.
- The role is primarily remote but requires attendance at the Alpharetta, Georgia office approximately once per month.
