About the role#
The Environmental Compliance Intern works within the Watershed and Environmental Management Department at the Aspetuck Environmental Center. This part-time position involves supporting source protection and compliance programs through field work and data management. You will work up to 29 hours per week, with a minimum expectation of 20 hours, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a paid role at $18.50 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Collect water samples from the watershed and drinking water treatment facilities.
- Perform source protection and environmental compliance inspections.
- Enter data into systems such as MS Office Suite, ArcGIS, and Klir.
- Compile data for annual compliance filings and sustainability metrics.
- Assist with natural resource management, forestry inventory, and boundary marking.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an upperclassman undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate.
- Preferred academic background in Forestry, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Engineering, Economics, or Philosophy.
- A valid State of Connecticut driver license.
- Ability to lift coolers of water samples and walk on uneven terrain in wooded areas.

- This position is located on-site in Easton, Connecticut.
- The term covers the Fall 2026 semester.
- Company vehicles are provided for field work.
