About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant to join the Utility Payments Team. You will work under close supervision to support the Utility Payments Section. This is a part-time, temporary position that offers a learning environment for students interested in accounting and state-level financial processes.
What you'll do#
- Process utility vendor payments and assist with audits.
- Research and enter financial transactions into the AMS Advantage System.
- Organize and scan paper invoices using the Paper Utility Invoice Automation System.
- Assemble claim schedules for submittal to the State Controller's Office.
- Handle general clerical tasks like copying and filing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution with a declared major in Accounting.
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and State Accounting processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience operating office equipment such as scanners, copiers, and calculators.
- Ability to work as part of a team in an office setting.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Students typically work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Compensation: $18.27 to $24.62 per hour.
