About the role#
The Student Financial Services Specialist provides administrative support and customer service for the Student Financial Services Office at Franklin Pierce University. This full-time, on-site role involves managing student account transactions, advising families on financial aid, and ensuring the office runs smoothly. You will report to the Director of Student Accounts and Bursar.
What you'll do#
- Provide general advising to students and families regarding financial aid applications, billing, and payment options.
- Perform data entry in Jenzabar One and PowerFAIDS systems.
- Handle cash, check, and credit card transactions to settle student account balances.
- Process and reconcile payments received in-office and through electronic systems.
- Monitor and manage private scholarships.
- Support frontline office reception by answering phone calls, emails, and greeting visitors.
- Assist with financial clearance, document tracking, and file management.
- Maintain data for Federal Student Perkins loans and handle loan collections.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma.
- Experience in a financial aid, billing, or bursar office is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and database management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality regarding financial information.
- Basic mathematical and bookkeeping skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Rindge, New Hampshire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
