About the role#
The WELL at Sacramento State is hiring students to serve as Intramural Sports Officials. This role involves managing sports contests like basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, dodgeball, and flag football. You will work as part of a team to ensure games are safe, fair, and enjoyable for all participants. The department provides training on all sports rules and procedures.
What you'll do#
- Enforce rules, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Intramural Sports Handbook.
- Ensure participants follow regulations regarding safety, risk management, and sportsmanship.
- Clarify rules and interpretations for players before contests begin.
- Set up sites for scheduled activities.
- Attend all staff meetings and training clinics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Sacramento State during the regular term.
- Minimum of nine semester units for undergraduates or six units for graduate students.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A genuine interest in sports activities.
- Experience in officiating, coaching, or playing sports at a competitive level is preferred.
- Majors including Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or Kinesiology are welcome.

- This position is located in Sacramento, California.
- Work is on-site at The WELL.
- This is a paid, part-time student assistant role.
- Shifts are available Monday through Saturday.
