About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering and Construction Management department at Sacramento State is hiring two student assistants. This role supports the Department of General Services and the Division of the State Architect. You will help develop supplemental testing standards for detectable warnings, specifically addressing California requirements and new technologies not covered by existing AASHTO standards. This position is open to current Sac State students only.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing, data analysis, and documentation.
- Assist with literature reviews and pilot testing.
- Compile results to ensure accurate validation outcomes.
- Complete equipment training provided by the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sac State student with at least six units for undergraduates or four units for graduate students.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic office technology systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and maintain consistent attendance.
- High attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. You may work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
- Compensation: $30.00 per hour.
