About the role#
East Stroudsburg University is joining the CUNY ASAP Student Success Action Lab. This initiative focuses on research and evidence-based practices to improve student outcomes. As a Graduate Project Research Assistant, you will work with a team of faculty, researchers, and administrators to support these efforts. You will gain experience in applied research, program evaluation, and project management while helping to advance equity and student achievement across the university.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement research studies focused on student success and equity.
- Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans.
- Collect, clean, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Develop and administer surveys.
- Create data visualizations and prepare reports, briefs, and research summaries.
- Maintain project records and organize documentation.
- Manage project timelines, meeting notes, and action items.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
- Assist with focus groups, interviews, and workshops.
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for policy and practice.
- Prepare materials for conference presentations and webinars.
- Ensure all work follows institutional data governance and ethical standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s program in management and leadership or a doctoral program in Educational Leadership.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Interest in student success, educational equity, or higher education research.
- Prior experience with research, data collection, or information analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make independent decisions.
- Capacity to pivot between tasks as priorities shift.
- Proficiency in English, including the ability to create clear verbal and written messages.
- Experience with statistical analysis or data visualization tools is helpful.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
- The role requires 20 hours of work per week, totaling 300 hours per semester.
- This is a paid position.
- The term is rolling.
