About the role#
The Department of Kinesiology and the Department of Allied Health Science are hiring two Sacramento State students to serve as Assistant Event Coordinators for the Career, Advising, and Professional Skills (CAPS) event. This role supports event planning and implementation for a mini-career fair designed to connect students with graduate programs, vocational resources, and campus organizations. This is a part-time, temporary position.
What you'll do#
- Assist faculty leads with event preparation and coordination.
- Communicate with participating programs, campus organizations, and event partners.
- Organize event materials, participant information, signage, and other logistics.
- Manage event setup, participant check-in, and organization coordination on the day of the event.
- Provide support to attendees and organizations throughout the event.
- Handle event breakdown and cleanup.
- Organize attendance and survey data after the event.
- Assist with basic post-event data analysis and reporting.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the faculty leads.
What you'll need#
- Must be an enrolled Sacramento State student.
- Preference for majors in Kinesiology, Health Science/Allied Health, or Recreation and Sport Administration.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Availability for hybrid work, including in-person attendance on the event day from 12:00-6:00 p.m. for setup, the event, and tear-down.
- Availability for limited remote work following the event for data analysis.
- Spanish proficiency is preferred, though not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $16.90 per hour.
- Schedule: Generally up to 20 hours per week during the academic year. The event takes place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 2:00-5:30 p.m. at the University Union Ballroom.
