About the role#
This year-round internship provides exposure to safety compliance and regulatory processes within the rail transportation industry. You will work from our headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, in a hybrid environment that balances on-site collaboration with remote work flexibility. The schedule accommodates academic commitments, typically requiring 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Manage compliance waivers by maintaining a centralized database and tracking expiration dates.
- Identify opportunities for waiver renewals or extensions and notify the team.
- Support data analytics projects and create visualizations using tools like Tableau.
- Assist department members with operational tasks and reporting.
- Build a professional network by interacting with team members and leadership across the company.
What you'll need#
- At least one year of completed undergraduate college credits.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Tableau.
- Ability to organize tasks, manage your time, and solve problems analytically.
- A willingness to ask questions and learn new processes.
- You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

- Compensation: $21 to $25 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
