About the role#
Corporate Audit Services (CAS) acts as the independent internal audit organization and third line of defense for U.S. Bank. This 10-week paid internship provides exposure to internal audit through on-the-job experience, formal training, and a network of internal auditors. Interns will either support Finance and Banking portfolios by assessing business, financial, regulatory, and operational risks, or join the Digital, Technology, and Operations team to evaluate infrastructure, architecture, and data technology.
What you'll do#
- Assist audit project leads in planning engagements and identifying key risks and controls.
- Perform control testing based on audit program directions.
- Identify and assess potential issues.
- Document work performed to support audit conclusions.
- Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to evaluate and conclude on the effectiveness of management controls.
- Develop risk and business acumen through mentorship and exposure to senior leadership.
- Build a supportive peer community through development workshops and social events.
- Ensure adherence to CAS policies and IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, management information systems, or data analytics.
- Target graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Ability to start the program on June 7, 2027.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
- Familiarity with data management and analytics tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Location & details#
- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Modality: Hybrid (typically three days per week on-site).
- Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week.
- Term: Summer 2027.
