John Deere Tech Student

About the role#

The John Deere Tech Student program is a two-year associate degree path designed to prepare you for a career as a service mechanic. This role combines instructor-led classroom training with on-the-job experience at a TRULAND Equipment dealership. You will gain hands-on expertise in John Deere products and systems while working toward full-time employment upon graduation.

What you'll do#

• Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at an accredited John Deere Tech School.
• Fulfill the minimum required hours working onsite at the dealership.
• Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks, including the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components.
• Obtain professional certification in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR™ training.
• Perform pre-delivery set-up and inspections of new equipment.
• Document diagnostics and repairs accurately and submit work orders on time.
• Learn to manage billable time and meet labor efficiency goals.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all safety regulations.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment or intent to enroll in a certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at a participating college.
• Commitment to completing the two-year associate's degree.
• Ability to assist service technicians and perform basic service tasks.
• Interest in pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Agriculture.
