Troon is seeking a motivated Operations Assistant Intern to support public tailgate operations at the University of Oklahoma. This hands-on role focuses on gameday management and delivering a high-quality fan experience. The position requires availability for all University of Oklahoma home football games, with schedules typically spanning Fridays and Saturdays.
What you'll do#
- Manage public tailgate operations on the North Oval.
- Interact with tailgaters to ensure a positive experience and assist with equipment unloading.
- Oversee event staff, including access control, security, and emergency response.
- Handle operational tasks such as signage and equipment setup.
- Collect and analyze key tailgate metrics.
- Coordinate with vendors to maintain service quality.
- Observe fan interactions and suggest improvements for future events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and remain self-motivated.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Commitment to working long hours during all seven University of Oklahoma home games.
Location & details#
- Location: Norman, Oklahoma.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week during home game weeks; hours vary during away and off weeks.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
