About the role#
The Biomedical Engineering Intern gains hands-on training by shadowing clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers. You will work under the supervision of TRIMEDX management to learn the daily operations of a hospital environment. This is a paid, part-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Shadow experienced engineers to understand their daily workflow.
- Respond to service calls and manage your daily workload.
- Document repairs and Preventative Maintenance work orders.
- Perform equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Conduct inventory validation.
- Train on electrical safety and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Manage vendor interactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associates or technical degree program, or equivalent military training in the biomedical field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screen.
- Prior experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment is preferred.
