    About the role#

    This co-op placement offers high school students hands-on experience within the Town of Caledon Energy and Environment department. The role is designed to help students meet graduation requirements while contributing to local climate and environmental initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with the implementation of programs like the 2028 Climate Action Fund and the 2027 Tree Seedling Program.
    • Help staff plan community engagement events such as Earth Hour.
    • Manage electronic file organization for Capital Planning.
    • Research environmental grants, incentives, and ongoing project topics.
    • Provide administrative support for energy billing data.
    • Attend meetings to record and distribute minutes.
    • Handle additional tasks as needed.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a full-time accredited secondary institution and a co-op credit course.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and Teams.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated organizational abilities.
    • The ability to work effectively in a sensitive environment.
    • Access to your own transportation.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, part-time, on-site position based at Town Hall in Caledon, Ontario.
    • The role involves a standard office environment with occasional travel to other town sites for meetings.
    • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 15 pounds and perform tasks involving movement like pulling or pushing.
