About the role#
Tower Research Capital is hiring a Software Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in New York City. You will work on-site to build and maintain trading infrastructure alongside our engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Optimize systems using network and systems programming.
- Design and build systems to collect, analyze, and visualize large datasets.
- Create data pipelines to capture market and reference data.
- Develop systems that provide fast access to market data.
- Build trading systems for algorithmic trading.
- Develop automation solutions and products to improve trading operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong understanding of programming concepts and object-oriented programming.
- Proficiency in at least one development language such as C++, Golang, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Rust.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Working knowledge of Linux.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Genuine interest in financial markets.

- Compensation: Paid internship with a weekly base salary range of $3,500 to $4,200.
