About the role#
Tower Research Capital is seeking a PhD student for a Quantitative Trader Internship. This role involves working alongside a dedicated mentor to research, develop, and enhance high-frequency trading strategies. You will contribute to the firm's analytical infrastructure and explore market patterns through data analysis.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and deploy high-frequency trading algorithms.
- Research and enhance existing trading strategies in collaboration with a mentor.
- Analyze market data and microstructure to identify and explore new trading ideas.
- Develop tools to analyze data patterns.
- Contribute to libraries of analytical computations supporting market data analysis and trading.
- Develop, augment, and calibrate exchange simulators.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in C++, R, Python, or another object-oriented language.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for new technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Interest in financial markets.
- Past industry experience or machine learning experience is preferred but not required.
