About the role#
This internship offers a look at the financial services industry through hands-on experience in our Chicago office. You will shadow financial advisors as they work with clients and run workshops. The role prepares you for a potential career as a financial advisor by focusing on case analysis, marketing tactics, and real-world training. This is a paid position available for course credit if coordinated with your school.
What you'll do#
- Participate in an orientation and training program.
- Shadow financial advisors during client meetings and community events.
- Prepare financial plans and analyses.
- Use financial planning software like MoneyGuidePro and Morningstar.
- Join team meetings to discuss weekly updates and industry trends.
- Observe regional seminars and attend virtual sessions with corporate employees.
- Work with the Engagement Team to integrate generosity programs.
- Research and present a project on building a financial services business in collaboration with other interns.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a college junior or senior.
- Enrollment in a degree program for business, finance, marketing, or a related field.
- Technical aptitude with business tools including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
