About the role#
As a Financial Analyst Intern at GreatAmerica Financial Services, you will work directly with our finance team to influence strategic business decisions. This role is designed for students pursuing degrees in finance, accounting, or economics who want to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world financial models. You will present your findings and recommendations to senior leadership throughout your internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform variance and trending analysis on company financial metrics.
- Assist in building and updating 5-year financial models for the corporation and individual business units.
- Summarize data and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Maintain and improve profitability and pricing tools.
- Contribute to monthly internal financial reporting.
- Conduct post-project analysis to evaluate if planned financial outcomes were met.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings or profit generation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects with financial implications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills to present your findings clearly.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- This position is based on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- The internship is part-time and follows a rolling schedule.
- This is a paid position.
