About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program based in Hartford, Connecticut. You will work with the Core Sales and Support team to gain experience in financial services, consultative sales, and the sales cycle. The program runs from June 2, 2027, to August 6, 2027, and requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. Interns will be assigned a manager, mentor, and executive sponsor to support their development through real-time business initiatives and a defined individual project.
What you'll do#
- Support the Core Sales and Support team on business initiatives and projects.
- Build prospecting lists and manage advisor additions in Salesforce for Internal Sales Directors.
- Analyze sales data to improve pipeline performance and streamline existing processes.
- Use data and AI tools to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Learn about the sales cycle and Empower 401(k) investment products.
- Present your project work to business leaders at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- A critical thinking mindset and a proactive approach to learning new tools.
- Demonstrated accountability for individual and team-based goals.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on academic level.
