About the role#
The WDI Show Mechanical Design & Production Intern supports the creation of special effects, animatronics, and show action equipment. This role focuses on the intersection of mechanical design and hands-on production within the Imagineering team. The internship runs from January 2027 to June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical design tasks including documentation and design reviews using CAD software.
- Help with prototype fabrication and the assembly of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Assist with mechanical fabrication and assembly under supervision.
- Work alongside Quality Control and Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Support project goals through mock-ups and system integrations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Hands-on experience gained through school, club projects, or industry work.
- Familiarity with machining, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and use measurement instruments.
- Proficiency with basic fabrication tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on problem-solving.

- Location: Celebration, Florida.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to June).
- Compensation: Undergraduate students receive $26.50 per hour, and graduate students receive $27.50 per hour.
- This is a full-time position.
