About the role#
We are looking for a Reliability Engineer Intern to join our oil refinery team in Laurel, Montana. You will assist refinery Mechanical Engineers and Inspectors to ensure equipment runs reliably while meeting safety and environmental standards. This role involves a mix of design work, data analysis, and hands-on troubleshooting.
What you'll do#
- Assist Mechanical Engineers and Inspectors with equipment reliability and performance tasks.
- Participate in mechanical equipment design and analyze inspection data.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis and troubleshoot equipment performance issues.
- Develop equipment repair plans and assist with materials selection.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers to design and install new projects and unit improvements.
- Identify and report safety, health, and environmental concerns that impact operations.
- Prepare equipment specifications, integrity evaluations, and research reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior in a Mechanical or Civil Engineering program at a four-year university.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week.
- Previous internship experience in the petrochemical or refining industry.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators.
