The station is in the #8 ranked television market in the country. You will have an opportunity to participate in developmental programming and contribute to daily operations of a major market television station.With the 7 on Your Side team, you will get hands-on experience working with our team that produces consumer news segments multiple times a week, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers and directly helping the residents of the San Francisco Bay Area!While you'll get news production experience, you'll also learn essential office skills. Overall, we hope to teach how to find, craft, and distribute good stories while instilling a sense of teamwork and a desire to help those around us. The approximate dates of this internship are January 2027 to early June 2027.What You Will DoKeep up with daily consumer news with an eye for potential stories, with possible light writing assignmentsResearch for producers’ stories, including web research, verify data over the phone, and cross-check multiple sourcesHelp sift through viewer responses to find the most compelling stories for the producers, and compile data on the information gathered from the pool of viewer messagesHelp consumer counselors as they answer viewer email and present the viewers’ issues to the relevant companies/agenciesAssist producers in the fieldRequired Qualifications & Skills Experience using Microsoft Word, Google Docs and Google SheetsExperience creating and maintaining spreadsheets in Microsoft ExcelExperience with researching and keeping multiple projects organizedHigh attention to detail and experience multitasking in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism (print and/or broadcast); television, news and news media production; and/or television news script writingExperience with AP style writingFamiliarity with Adobe Premiere and/or AirtableExperience using camera and/or lighting equipmentEducation Junior or Senior year preferredEligibility Requirements & Internship InformationCandidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney InternshipBe at least 18 years of agePossess unrestricted work authorizationHave not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College ProgramAdditional InformationAble to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internshipThe approximate dates of this internship are January 2027 through early June 2027Fully available to work 20 hours per week during a Monday through Friday schedule (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor and could include nights/early mornings)Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the San Francisco, California areaAble to provide/have reliable transportation to/from workThe pay rate for this role in California is $23.00 per hour.
