About the role#
The ABC News Early Morning team produces 1.5 hours of overnight news programming for World News Now and Good Morning America: First Look. As an intern, you will collaborate with producers, attend editorial meetings, and learn the daily operations of a live news broadcast. This is a full-time, on-site internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from January 2027 through early June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist producers with news gathering and production tasks for on-air segments.
- Support the delivery of show elements by distributing scripts and lineups.
- Help the production team with logistics for story pieces and conduct virtual or video interviews.
- Propose story ideas and segments for broadcasts.
- Write, produce, and edit segments for on-air presentation after completing training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, with at least one class taken at the time of application.
- Junior or Senior standing is preferred.
- Coursework or a major in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or Film/Television.
- Previous academic or internship experience in journalism, television production, or script writing.
- Experience working in collaborative environments and researching information.
- Basic video editing skills, with Avid experience preferred.
- Ability to work an overnight shift from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with unrestricted work authorization.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- You must provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
- This role is paid at $23.00 per hour.
- You must have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
