About the role#
The Costume Design and Development team supports the creation of operational costumes used across Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. As an intern, you will work alongside Costume Development Managers, Designers, Buyers, and production teams to bring these projects to life. This position runs from January 2027 through June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist managers and designers with new project work, including attending fittings and vendor meetings.
- Conduct research and help prepare presentations for operational teams.
- Support the development process by maintaining documentation systems.
- Create garment technical packages and perform spec development.
- Coordinate sample reviews for ongoing projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a Senior or Graduate student in Business, Fashion Design, Merchandising, Costume Design, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of garment construction and textiles.
- Strong analytical, financial, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and a willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience building professional relationships across departments.
- A portfolio containing your best 10 pieces of artwork is required for consideration.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with unrestricted work authorization.
- A valid US driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- You must maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule for the duration of the internship.
- Compliance with The Disney Look appearance guidelines is required.
