About the role#
The University of Tulsa Athletics department is hiring a Sports Nutrition Fellow to join the Performance Team. You will report to the Director of Sports Nutrition and work with the Performance and Wellness team to support player nutrition and athletic performance. This position focuses on the University of Tulsa Olympic Sports programs. This is a 12-month assignment with the possibility of an extension for another year. You will receive mentorship from the Director of Sports Nutrition.
What you'll do#
- Provide nutrition expertise to student athletes through team talks and consultations.
- Assist with planning and executing practice, game day, and travel fueling strategies.
- Support the Director of Sports Nutrition in delivering services to players and staff.
- Manage daily operations and inventory for the fueling station.
- Evaluate nutritional supplements for safety, quality, legality, and efficacy.
- Assist with assessment modalities such as body composition, bloodwork, and hydration.
- Monitor current nutrition research and incorporate findings into the program.
What you'll need#
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Nutrition, Kinesiology, Public Health, Health Administration, or Biology.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Previous experience in sports nutrition is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and requires daily on-site presence.
- You must be available for non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel is required for select away-game trips.
- You must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
