About the role#
The Seattle Times offers a 10-week paid summer internship for students pursuing a career in journalism. You will work alongside our staff on real-world assignments at our metropolitan newspaper and website. This is a full-time, on-site position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Report and write stories ranging from breaking news to enterprise pieces.
- Collaborate with other reporters and interns on newsroom-wide projects.
- Cultivate sources that reflect the diversity of our communities.
- Learn the tools and platforms necessary for newsroom operations.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student.
- A journalism major or a demonstrated commitment to print or online journalism.
- Strong reporting, writing, and multimedia skills.
- Digital literacy and social media proficiency.
- Previous internship experience at other news organizations is strongly preferred.
- A commitment to the importance of diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences in the newsroom.

- Compensation: $21.30 per hour.
