    About the role#

    The Seattle Times offers a paid 10-week summer internship for students pursuing a career in journalism. You will work alongside our staff on real-world assignments, contributing to both our print and digital platforms.

    What you'll do#

    • Copy edit stories for web and print publication.
    • Write headlines tailored for multiple platforms.
    • Produce digital news alerts and email newsletters.
    • Collaborate with newsroom teams to maintain high-quality content.
    • Uphold standards of accuracy, ethics, fairness, taste, and inclusivity.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate student at a four-year college or university.
    • A major in Journalism or a demonstrated commitment to print and online journalism.
    • Strong language skills and a basic grasp of AP style.
    • Experience editing on multiple platforms.
    • Digital literacy.
    • A willingness to work nights and weekends.
    • Previous internship experience at other news organizations is strongly preferred.
    • A commitment to diversity and inclusive newsrooms.

    • Location: Seattle, Washington.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Compensation: $21.30 per hour.
