About the role#
As a Research & Development Intern or Co-Op, you will work within the R&D organization to manage technical functions for a research project. You will analyze data, report on your findings, and contribute to product development initiatives. This role requires a commitment to being onsite at least 75 percent of the time.
What you'll do#
- Manage and conduct all technical functions of a small research project independently.
- Apply product development methodologies and scientific methods to new product development, analytical method development, or cost savings projects.
- Maintain detailed lab records, including hypotheses, protocols, results, and next steps.
- Keep the laboratory work environment clean and organized.
- Support team project trials and train team members or other locations on new lab methods and standard operating procedures.
- Communicate effectively with peers and project teams during meetings and ideation sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current Sophomore or Junior standing.
- Educational experience in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong time-management and project management skills.
- Ability to keep detail-oriented records.
- Proven leadership abilities.

- Location: Orrville, Ohio.
- Modality: Hybrid (75 percent onsite).
- Terms: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, or Fall 2027.
- Duration: 3-month summer positions or 6 to 8-month positions available.
- Compensation: Paid position with a housing stipend for those who relocate.
