About the role#
As a Plant Systems Engineering Intern, you will support manufacturing operations through IT, automation, and network infrastructure. You will work alongside technicians and engineers to analyze manufacturing processes, deliver technical solutions, and manage projects from start to finish. This role offers exposure to enterprise IT standards and long-term plant modernization initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Architect, administer, and support network infrastructure including Terminal Servers, Thin Clients, and Ethernet Switches.
- Design, implement, and support technical solutions in MES and SCADA software.
- Manage projects from scope development, capital appropriation, implementation, commissioning, and verification.
- Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
- Research the feasibility of long-term plant upgrade initiatives.
- Develop and document IT standards.
What you'll need#
- At least Sophomore standing in Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, and operating systems.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, SQL, VBA, or C#.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work full-time during the internship period.
- Ability to meet safety expectations, including wearing required personal protective equipment and following good manufacturing practices.
