About the role#
This 10-week summer internship at Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO) immerses you in the buy-side investment management industry. You will work directly with a Front Office team to gain hands-on experience in areas such as credit research, privates, structured credit, or quantitative equity. This is a full-time, paid position designed to provide exposure to institutional asset management.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Front Office teams on investment strategies and research.
- Participate in professional development through a mentoring program and a mock-trading competition.
- Attend an executive speaker series and various social events.
- Complete a capstone project and present your findings to senior leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Academic background in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- A deep interest in financial markets and a baseline knowledge of how they function.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A high level of attention to detail and a self-starting attitude.
