About the role#
The Garrett Companies is hiring a Landscape Architect Intern to join our in-house team. You will work on multifamily development projects across the country. This internship offers hands-on experience with the development process, from initial design to construction handoff. You will gain exposure to real-world projects while working alongside our team of professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Produce graphic presentations, renderings, and construction drawings.
- Research local zoning codes to ensure designs are ready for permit and plan reviews.
- Research specific project topics and summarize findings.
- Prepare landscape and site feature design presentations.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies.
- Support the team with various tasks related to the development process.
- Assist at all levels of the project, including manual support tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising junior or Master’s student in an accredited Landscape Architecture program.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat), Word, and Excel.
- Strong graphic design abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A detail-oriented mindset, proactive attitude, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to take direction and learn from industry experts.
