About the role#
This paid internship offers chemistry students hands-on experience in the mining industry. You will work within our chemistry department in Viburnum, Missouri, during the summer of 2027. This full-time role focuses on applying your academic knowledge to real operational needs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project management, data analysis, and research tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to learn about our operations and departments.
- Conduct field work to support business processes.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or deviations.
- Provide feedback to help improve safety performance.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- At least 24 hours of completed college coursework is preferred.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.2.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver's license.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- The ability to apply what you have learned in school to operational tasks.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Viburnum, Missouri.
- The position is full-time for the summer 2027 term.
- The work environment includes time in an office setting, but you will frequently work in wet or humid conditions and may be exposed to outdoor weather, vibrations, or loud noise. You will be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 75 pounds rarely.
