About the role#
FamilySearch is seeking a Production and Events Intern for a 6-month term. This role supports the planning and execution of RootsTech, an annual genealogy conference that serves millions of attendees globally. You will work directly with the events team to manage both in-person and online production elements. This position requires a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who holds a current temple recommend.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members to refine and deliver original content.
- Assist with script writing, basic video filming, and video editing.
- Support RootsTech studio production planning and coordinate with international talent.
- Provide logistical support for main stage experiences, both in-person and online.
- Help develop and execute event schedules alongside global stakeholders.
- Manage and organize virtual content throughout the production process.
- Create family history reveal presentations using PowerPoint.
- Write metadata, video descriptions, and thumbnails for mainstage content.
- Assist with speakers, classes, and expo hall operations.
What you'll need#
- A completed or in-progress Bachelor's degree in experience design, digital media, film production, marketing, business management, or communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a specific focus on PowerPoint.
- Experience with basic video filming and editing tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent project and time management abilities.
- A composed demeanor when working under pressure during live events.
- Self-motivation and a high level of personal integrity.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Work modality is hybrid, requiring 4 days per week in the office and 1 day remote.
