About the role#
The Centers is hiring a Counseling Intern to join the Health and Wellness department. This is a paid, full-time position based in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves shadowing and providing psychotherapy services to support clients in the local community.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and provide psychotherapy services, including mental health assessments and individual sessions.
- Lead or assist with group psychotherapy and psychoeducational health and wellness sessions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Manage a client caseload according to educational requirements and supervisor evaluations.
- Complete mental health assessments once you demonstrate an understanding of diagnostic criteria.
- Attend and participate in weekly supervision sessions and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain agency documentation in line with ODMH standards and best practices.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor degree in psychology, sociology, social work, art therapy, or a related field.
- Active enrollment in a master degree program for social work, counseling, art therapy, or marriage and family therapy.
- Completed coursework in diagnosis, theories, and group process.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CT or SWT status.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to working cooperatively with team members.
