Sales and Management Intern

About the role#

The Sales and Management Intern supports the retail store mission by providing an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. You will work closely with the Store Manager to gain a comprehensive understanding of retail operations, including sales, merchandising, and management practices. This role is designed to develop your leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills through hands-on experience and specific management assignments.

What you'll do#

• Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide consistent, high-quality service.
• Demonstrate product knowledge to help guests find merchandise and create complete wardrobing experiences.
• Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
• Perform operational tasks such as cashiering, processing freight, maintaining store cleanliness, and executing price markdowns.
• Complete modules from the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and hiring processes.
• Provide weekly progress reports to management and participate in monthly conference calls.
• Assist with visual merchandising to ensure the sales floor is organized and freight is displayed effectively.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field, such as Business Administration or Marketing.
• An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
