Sales and Management Intern

About the role#

The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on delivering an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while gaining practical retail business experience. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand retail operations, management responsibilities, and the mechanics of the business. This role involves a mix of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, alongside specific leadership training modules.

What you'll do#

• Guest Service & Sales: Greet guests, provide product recommendations, manage fitting rooms, and process transactions at the register. You will work to achieve personal sales-per-hour and total net sales goals.
• Leadership Development: Complete designated sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and recruiting. You will lead a specific product category, set sales goals, track results, and provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
• Operations & Merchandising: Maintain a clean and organized store, handle freight, update displays, and execute price markdowns. You will also manage cash registers, perform opening and closing procedures, and follow loss prevention guidelines.
• Team Engagement: Participate in monthly conference calls and collaborate with the team to identify product feedback and improve store performance.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a relevant field of study.
• An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and specific holidays as required by business needs.
