About the role#
As a Safety Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting safety initiatives across active construction projects. You will work alongside experienced safety professionals and field teams to promote a strong culture of safety. This is a full-time, paid position that offers mentorship and real-world experience on complex projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with implementing and monitoring safety programs.
- Conduct site audits and inspections.
- Support incident investigations.
- Deliver training and awareness efforts.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to creating safe, healthy, and productive jobsites.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
- Preferred majors include Occupational Safety and Health, Occupational Safety Management, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong communication skills, including comfort with cold and warm phone calls to build relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Goal-oriented mindset.
- Evidence of high academic achievement.
- Elected leadership experience is preferred.
- Passion for the construction industry.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
