About the role#
As a Teardown Lab Co-op Student, you will work hands-on in our lab to document the internal structure of consumer electronic devices. This role bridges your academic studies with practical application in the semiconductor industry. You will gain experience with specialized lab equipment, DSLR cameras, and a variety of hand and power tools.
What you'll do#
- Disassemble various consumer electronic devices.
- Capture high-resolution photography throughout the disassembly process.
- Identify and catalog internal components and sub-systems.
- Enter cataloged items into our inventory management system.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program for electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with or a keen interest in microelectronics.
- Ability to use hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, cutting tools, and prying tools.
- Proficiency with photo-editing software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
